Random Thoughts

  • Arrive on a deserted island.
  • island is actually inhabited
  • character finds remains of a civilization (ruins??)
  • character can gather, hunt, build without interference from natives until a “Game-Trigger” happens
    • Maybe an area “Claim Block” is required for advancing perks/skills beyond basic
    • Or possibly another building, such as a Hunting Lodge or Gardner Shed
      • Each required to progress in the chosen perk/skill
  • Upon activating the Game-Trigger, the natives attack at random times
    • tries to destroy things
      • Need mechanic
    • attacks the character
      • Need mechanic
    • Perhaps, the character can discover that doing something for the natives can lengthen the time between native attacks
  • The character finds clues scattered all over the island as to the Island's History
    • The character finds a form of hieroglyphs on the island
    • Ultimately, the character discovers the original inhabitants left the island on their own “Restart” mission.
      • The current inhabitants are also on their own “Restart” mission

Core Concept

I really like the idea of Hunting, gathering, building and farming with the occasional fight with the natives. I don't want a full fledged, first-person-shooter game. The combat is really secondary to the other aspects of the game.

The game's logo actually means Restart in the islanders language.

Core Game Mechanics

Tech

The only Tech that has been decided upon is to use the Unity3d game engine. We're looking seriously at the project template Ultimate Survival so we can get a jump start on this project.
